I’m sitting here in La Jolla, CA watching the sunset, reflecting on the last two weeks. First, I’m blow away by how fast time is going and second,  I’m amazed at the incredible blessings or family is experiencing.

Since the last post, I headed to Nassau in the Bahamas for a business trip while Mark, Carson, Kennedy and Jessie stayed back in Phoenix. I loved spending time with clients and doing what I love with The John Maxwell Company! It was an awesome trip where I was able to leverage some alone time and take advantage of long hot showers…which is a tremendous luxury from living in an RV where water usage is something to pay attention to. Although I did miss my family.

There have been a number of people who’ve said they can’t imagine living in an RV with such tight quarters. I know it sounds crazy but we really enjoy each other’s company so it hasn’t been a problem (so far). Actually we are bonding as a family and getting closer as time goes on. Now don’t get me wrong, there are times when we can get on each other’s nerves but so far, never in a disrespectful way.

When I got back from the Bahamas, the next morning (April 8) we headed out to San Diego. The total drive was about seven hours which after our weekend to Albuquerque then Phoenix where we drive a total of 18 hrs. In 2 days seems like a walk in the park. We’re really get the hang of this!

We’re staying at the Mission Bay RV resort which is a great location central to everything in San Diego.

We have visited LaJolla several times checking out Seal Beach, dinner in Coronado at Hotel Del Coronado, visited the USS Midway in downtown San Diego along with Seaport Village and the Gaslamp District, had a great day at Sea World then dinner at Old Town Mexican Cafรฉ.

Now this weekend we decided to have a mother /daughter, father/son weekend. Carson turns 13 on April 20 so Mark wanted to take him out just the two of them and do some male bonding. They rented a dune buggy in the desert and are staying at an RV park that’s a bit more primitive than Kennedy and I would enjoy:)

For our mother-daughter time we are at the Hotel La Jolla. So far we have had a great time doing a Segway tour, having dinner at George’s on the cove and enjoying bike riding and the beach at La Jolla Shores. Tonight it’s room service and a movie…life is sweet!!!

I am overflowing with appreciation and gratitude for this incredible life. Not sure where I read it or heard it but the quote is “gratitude is the root of happiness”. What are you grateful for?

  1. Brings back memories because my dad grew up right there in LaJolla. He was a surfer boy! Girl you’re so right – life is good and we are so blessed. Though I’m doing the opposite – working from home with a side of camping once a month – I’m loving every minute! We’re off to Savannah this weekend!
